Though its grant program was only 2 years old at the time, WFTW is proud to have funded
something really unique.

The Fantastic Fun River Run was conceived, built and travelled by the Upper Big Blue Natural
Resource District in York, Nebraska.

It's an attention-getting interactive tool to educate the young and old about critical habitat,
drought, municipal and agricultural water use and hydropower generation. Experiencing how
rivers work and how their value to the environment motivates people to conserve and sustain
our water supply.

Seen here at the Nebraska State Fair, River Run has become a star attraction at school
events, county fairs, conferences and other venues. This project has inspired kids and parents
to take more action in the care and keeping of our water.
